Gardening in Utah- July 4, 2010

Gardening in Utah can be a bit challenging due to the short growing season. This is our house on April 6. Our last significant snow fall was on May 24th when we received 4 inches; fortunately it only stayed on the ground for a few hours.

Our garden on July 4th. Amazing what can grow in 3 months time!

The raspberries are ripening- yum!

Our first tomato of the season! No, it's not a Fourth of July, it's a Stupice. I planted several cold hardy tolerant heirloom varieties including this one from Czechoslovakia. The Siberian plant had tomatoes first, but none have ripened yet.

Hope everyone is having a happy 4th of July weekend!
